Introduction

Psychedelic-Assisted Liberation Coaching offers a reflective and educational space to explore consciousness, embodiment, and pleasure in connection with legally prescribed or otherwise lawfully obtained psychedelic experiences under the care of an independent, licensed medical provider.

This work is not psychotherapy, medical treatment, or clinical care. It does not establish a therapist–client or doctor–patient relationship. It is a coaching and educational service focused on self-inquiry, integration, and liberation through personal insight and embodied awareness.

All participants must have an independent, licensed medical provider who prescribes and manages their ketamine or other psychedelic medication. Dr. Nicole Thompson and The Pleasure Practice LLC do not prescribe, provide, administer, store, or distribute any controlled substances, nor make medical recommendations or decisions regarding dosage, frequency, or suitability for use.

All coaching sessions are conducted virtually and are not intended to provide medical supervision or emergency oversight. Dr. Nicole Thompson and The Pleasure Practice LLC may offer presence, guidance, or reflective support during or after a psychedelic experience experience in a non-clinical, non-medical capacity. All medical and mental health supervision remains the responsibility of your licensed provider

Scope of Role

Dr. Nicole Thompson is a coach, educator, and facilitator, not a treating psychotherapist or medical provider in this context. Although she holds a doctorate in clinical psychology, advanced training in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, and certification in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, she offers these services solely as coaching under The Pleasure Practice LLC.

She does not assess, diagnose, or treat mental health or medical conditions, nor provide emergency or crisis intervention. All questions regarding health or medication must be directed to your licensed prescriber or healthcare provider.

Client Responsibilities

By engaging in this coaching relationship, you agree to:

1. Obtain any psychedelic medicine only through a licensed medical provider who independently prescribes and oversees your care.

2. Follow all medical instructions, safety guidelines, and aftercare recommendations provided by your licensed prescriber.

3. Ensure your physical environment during any psychedelic experience is safe, comfortable, and appropriately supported according to your medical provider’s guidance.

4. You may choose to share any personal context that feels relevant to your integration process. All medical and psychological considerations remain solely under the care of your licensed medical or mental health providers.

5. Take full responsibility for your choices, well-being, and the integration of your experiences.

You acknowledge that your participation in this coaching work is self-directed, voluntary, and not a substitute for medical or mental-health treatment.

Potential Experiences and Effects

You acknowledge that psychedelic experiences, when undertaken through your independent medical provider, may bring forth a wide range of emotions, sensations, and memories including joy, grief, insight, or discomfort.

The Pleasure Practice LLC does not guide or control the content of these experiences. Coaching is intended only to help you reflect on and integrate your personal insights afterward. All experiences are unique, and no specific outcomes, relief, or transformations can be guaranteed.

Ketamine can cause dizziness, nausea, elevated blood pressure, confusion, emotional vulnerability, or other physiological effects. You agree to work only under the medical supervision of your prescribing provider and to contact them immediately if adverse effects occur.

You acknowledge that The Pleasure Practice LLC and Dr. Nicole Thompson are not responsible for medical outcomes or complications associated with your use of any psychedelic medicine, whether prescribed or self-administered.

Because coaching is non-medical and non-therapeutic, you release The Pleasure Practice LLC from any responsibility related to dosage, timing, administration, or any physiological, emotional, psychological, or perceived reactions that may occur in connection with your use of legally prescribed psychedelic medicine.

Voluntary Participation and Right to Withdraw

Your participation is entirely voluntary. You may withdraw or pause your coaching at any time. Completed sessions are non-refundable. You retain full autonomy and choice throughout this process.

Assumption of Risk and Liability Waiver

By signing this document, you acknowledge and agree that:

1. You are voluntarily choosing to participate in Psychedelic-Assisted Liberation Coaching.

2. You have a legally prescribed medicine managed by an independent medical provider who assumes full responsibility for your medical safety.

3. You understand that Dr. Nicole Thompson and The Pleasure Practice are not liable LLC for any injury, adverse reaction, psychological distress, or other damages arising from your use of any psychedelic substance or participation in coaching.

4. You release and forever hold harmless Dr. Nicole Thompson, The Pleasure Practice LLC, and their employees, contractors, and affiliates from any and all claims or damages related to your participation.

5. Any damages recoverable under law are expressly limited to the total fees paid by you for coaching services.

6. No guarantees or warranties, express or implied, are made regarding outcomes or results.

7. You acknowledge that any psychedelic experiences are undertaken independently of The Pleasure Practice LLC, and you assume all associated risks.

Liability Release and Hold Harmless Provisions:

Being fully informed of the nature and scope of Psychedelic-Assisted Liberation Coaching as described above, and of the potential risks associated with one’s own engagement in psychedelic experiences under independent medical supervision, I voluntarily assume full responsibility for my participation.

By signing this Agreement, I hereby release, indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Pleasure Practice LLC and Dr. Nicole Thompson, including any employees, contractors, affiliates, representatives, successors, or assigns, from and against any and all claims, demands, causes of action, suits, damages, losses, costs, expenses, and liabilities of any kind or nature, whether known or unknown, in law or in equity, arising out of or related to my participation in coaching or integration services.

This release includes, without limitation, claims based on negligence, breach of contract, misrepresentation, emotional distress, psychological injury, personal injury, death, or property damage, as well as any claim arising from or related to my use of psychedelic substances prescribed or provided by an independent medical provider.

I expressly agree not to sue or institute any legal or equitable proceeding against Dr. Nicole Thompson, The Pleasure Practice LLC, or their affiliates, and I waive any right of recovery or relief for damages or losses allegedly arising from my participation. This release shall inure to the benefit of The Pleasure Practice’s agents, contractors, employees, successors, assigns, family members, and legal representatives.

The release shall be construed broadly to provide the maximum waiver and indemnity permitted under applicable law. In no event shall The Pleasure Practice’s total liability, if any, exceed the total amount of fees paid by me for coaching services.

Mediation and Arbitration of Disputes

Before initiating any formal action or claim, both parties agree to first attempt good-faith mediation to resolve any dispute arising from this Agreement. If mediation does not resolve the matter, any dispute, claim, or controversy, including the determination of the scope or applicability of this clause, shall be resolved exclusively by binding arbitration in Chicago, Illinois, under the Illinois Uniform Arbitration Act.

The Parties expressly waive:

1. Any right of removal to federal court; and

2. Any right to trial by judge or jury.

If either Party initiates proceedings to enforce or interpret this Agreement, the substantially prevailing party shall be entitled to recover reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs.

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed according to the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and voluntarily agree to all terms of this Psychedelic-Assisted Liberation Coaching Informed Consent.
