TERMS & CONDITIONS

These Terms & Conditions govern services provided by The Pleasure Practice LLC, including individual, couple and polycule services, professional mentorship, psychedelic integration and experiential sessions, group programs including the Pleasure Liberation series, workshops, and digital offerings.

The Queer Joy psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy group is a separate clinical offering with Dr. Nicole provided through Homecoming Therapies LLC and is not governed by these Terms & Conditions. Queer Joy participants receive separate clinical consent, policies, and terms applicable to that program.

Dr. Nicole Thompson is a psychotherapist with clinical training in relational, somatic, and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. Through The Pleasure Practice, she offers services to individuals and groups across the United States and internationally. Because licensure laws restrict the practice of psychotherapy across state and international boundaries, services provided through The Pleasure Practice are offered in a coaching and educational capacity rather than as psychotherapy or medical treatment. This structure allows participants from diverse locations to engage in pleasure-based, relational, and personal development work while maintaining clear ethical and legal boundaries. These terms and conditions ("Agreement") govern the provision of coaching services ("Coaching Services") by The Pleasure Practice LLC ("we," "us," or "our") to individuals ("you" or "Client"). By engaging in the Coaching Services, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

​

1. Scope of Services

1.1   The Pleasure Practice LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides coaching, educational, and experiential services (“Coaching Services”), which may include individual, partner, or group sessions, workshops, and digital offerings. The scope and structure of these services will be agreed upon between you (“Client”) and us. We will provide all Coaching Services in a professional and timely manner, consistent with our expertise and ethical standards.

1.2 Although Dr. Nicole Thompson is a psychotherapist, in this context she is serving solely as a coach. This relationship does not establish a therapist–client relationship. Dr. Nicole will not provide a diagnosis, psychotherapy, or treatment plans. I, the undersigned client, understand and consent to participate in pleasure-based coaching provided. I understand that coaching is not a substitute for psychotherapy or medical treatment. Coaching is a non-clinical, goal-focused process that supports personal or professional development, performance, and decision-making, and it does not involve  diagnosis, treatment, psychotherapy, or  ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. It is not a licensed healthcare service and does not provide clinical assessment, psychotherapy, or mental health treatment. This does not establish a therapist-client, doctor-patient, or any other professional healthcare relationship.

1.3  While confidentiality is respected, coaching is not subject to HIPAA or psychotherapy confidentiality laws. You understand that electronic communications (email, text, video) may not be encrypted, and you assume responsibility for the confidentiality risks associated with these methods.

2. Client Responsibilities

2.1   You are responsible for actively engaging in the Coaching Services, setting goals, and completing any assigned tasks or exercises. You understand that the success of the coaching process depends on your commitment, openness, and willingness to take action.

​

2.2   You acknowledge that coaching is not a substitute for psychotherapy, diagnosis, or medical treatment. Although Dr. Nicole Thompson is a psychotherapist, she serves solely as a coach in this context. You are solely responsible for your own physical, emotional, and mental well-being during and after participation in Coaching Services.​

​

3. Fees and Payment

3.1 Individual  and Partner Coaching Fees. Fees for individual Coaching Services are $350 for individual sessions and $450 for partner sessions. Individual and partner sessions require at least 48 hours' notice for cancellation or rescheduling. Sessions rescheduled or canceled with less than 48 hours' notice are charged in full.

3.2 Group Program Tuition. Tuition for a 16-week group program is $5,500 unless the Client has been approved for a different tuition amount through the Community Care Fund. 

​

​3.3 Community Care Fund. A limited number of Community Care Fund tuition awards may be available for group programs. If approved, the award reduces the total tuition amount for which the Client is responsible. Community Care Fund awards reduce total program tuition and do not convert tuition into a per-session or hourly fee and remains subject to the same enrollment, payment plan, withdrawal, and refund terms described in this Agreement.

3.4 Enrollment Commitment. Enrollment in a group program becomes final when the Client submits the required enrollment/intake materials and affirmatively accepts this Agreement. Upon receipt of the completed enrollment/intake materials and acceptance of this Agreement, the Client assumes responsibility for the full tuition amount and authorizes The Pleasure Practice LLC to begin processing payment according to the Client’s selected payment option. If the Client has selected an installment plan, the first payment will be charged at that time and subsequent installments will be charged according to the agreed payment schedule.

3.5 Group Installment Plans. An installment plan is a payment arrangement for the total tuition obligation and is not a pay-per-session, pay-per-week, subscription, or pay-as-you-participate arrangement. Withdrawal from participation does not, by itself, cancel or reduce the remaining tuition balance.

3.6 Refunds. Except where otherwise required by applicable law or expressly agreed to in writing by The Pleasure Practice LLC, session fees, group program tuition, deposits, and installment payments are non-refundable and non-transferable once paid. Group program tuition remains subject to the enrollment commitment, withdrawal, and payment provisions of this Agreement.

3.7 Payment Authorization. By providing a payment method, you authorize The Pleasure Practice LLC and its payment processor, Stripe, to store your payment information and process charges in accordance with the services, fees, and payment arrangements you have agreed to. This may include charges for scheduled individual, couple, or polycule sessions; applicable late-cancellation fees under Section 3.1; and installment payments toward group program tuition. For group installment plans, charges will continue according to the agreed payment schedule until the tuition balance has been paid in full, except where otherwise required by applicable law.

3.8 Payment Plan Duration. Unless otherwise expressly approved in writing by The Pleasure Practice LLC, all installment plans for group program tuition must be completed no later than the final scheduled date of the applicable group program. The Pleasure Practice LLC is not obligated to offer or extend payment plans beyond the duration of the program.

4. Group Programs

4.1 Enrollment in a group program offered by The Pleasure Practice LLC (including but not limited to the Pleasure Liberation series) reserves a place in a limited-capacity cohort and constitutes a commitment to the program's full tuition. Participants remain free to determine their level of participation and may withdraw from participation at any time, subject to the financial provisions of this Agreement.

4.2 Choosing not to attend, discontinuing participation, declining access to program materials, or otherwise withdrawing from the program does not cancel the Client's tuition obligation. If the Client withdraws while paying tuition through an installment plan, any unpaid tuition remains due according to the agreed payment schedule, except where otherwise required by applicable law. Missed sessions cannot be rescheduled, credited, or refunded.

4.3 Closed Cohort and Late Entry. Group programs are structured as closed cohorts, and participants are expected to begin with the cohort at the first scheduled session. Participants who do not attend the first session are not automatically entitled to begin attending at a later session. Any late entry into the cohort requires the prior express approval of The Pleasure Practice LLC and may be declined in order to preserve group continuity, trust, safety, and the integrity of the group container. Missing the first session, delayed entry, or not being permitted to enter the cohort after it has begun does not cancel or reduce the Client’s tuition obligation or remaining installment payments, except where otherwise required by applicable law.

4.4 The Pleasure Practice is committed to cultivating a space rooted in mutual respect, consent, and collective care. All participants are expected to engage in ways that support the emotional and relational safety of the group. If behaviors arise that disrupt the integrity of the space including, but not limited to, repeated boundary violations, harmful communication, or actions that negatively impact other participants, Dr. Nicole will address these concerns directly and may offer opportunities for repair or remediation.

However, participation in the group is contingent upon a demonstrated willingness and capacity to engage in this process. If, after reasonable attempts at repair, a participant continues to engage in behaviors that are misaligned with the values and safety of the group, Dr. Nicole reserves the right to remove the participant from the program. In such cases, removal from the group will occur without refund. By joining The Pleasure Practice, participants agree to uphold the integrity of the space and understand that this container prioritizes the well-being of the collective.

4.5 Failed Payments and Program Access. Maintaining payments according to the agreed payment schedule is a condition of continued access to and participation in a group program. If a scheduled payment is declined, fails, becomes past due, or otherwise cannot be processed according to the agreed payment schedule, The Pleasure Practice LLC may suspend or terminate the Client's access to and participation in the program. Any alternative or extended payment arrangement is an accommodation for payment of the Client's existing tuition obligation and does not reduce or otherwise modify the total tuition owed. If the Client fails to make payments when due or fails to satisfy a material condition of an alternative payment arrangement, The Pleasure Practice LLC may discontinue that accommodation.

Upon termination for unresolved payment default, the Client's remaining unpaid tuition balance becomes due, except where otherwise required by applicable law. The Pleasure Practice LLC may seek payment of the remaining balance through any lawful means available to it.

4.6 Graduation Review and Anonymous Testimonials. As part of completing a group program, participants complete a final graduation review, which includes providing feedback about their experience in the program. The Client agrees that The Pleasure Practice LLC may use excerpts from their written graduation review for educational, promotional, or marketing purposes, including on its website and social media, provided that the Client’s name and other personally identifying information are not disclosed.

​

Excerpts may be attributed using a general program designation such as “Pleasure Liberation: Sexuality Alum,” “Pleasure Liberation: Non-Monogamy Alum,” or a similar non-identifying description. The Pleasure Practice LLC will not publicly identify the Client in connection with their graduation review or feedback without the Client’s separate permission.

5. Psychedelic Sessions

5.1 Coaching Relationship. The Client acknowledges and agrees that the services provided by Dr. Nicole Thompson under this Agreement are coaching, educational, and experiential services only. The Client understands that they are not engaging in psychotherapy, counseling, psychological treatment, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, or any other form of mental health treatment through The Pleasure Practice LLC, and that no diagnosis, psychotherapy, medical treatment, or other licensed healthcare service is being provided.

5.2 Independent Psychedelic and Medical Services. The Client acknowledges that The Pleasure Practice LLC and Dr. Nicole Thompson do not prescribe, dispense, supply, administer, or independently authorize the use of ketamine or other psychedelic substances under this Agreement. Any prescription, administration, medical screening, dosing instructions, or other medical services related to ketamine or another substance, if applicable, are provided independently by an appropriately licensed medical provider or other legally authorized provider and are separate from the Coaching Services provided under this Agreement.

5.3 Medical Eligibility and Instructions. Determinations regarding whether a Client is medically eligible to use ketamine or another psychedelic substance, including questions regarding medications, contraindications, dosage, route of administration, and medical risk, are solely within the scope of the Client's prescribing or treating medical provider. The Client agrees to follow the instructions of their medical provider and to direct medical questions regarding psychedelic use to that provider rather than to Dr. Nicole Thompson or The Pleasure Practice LLC.

5.4 Communication With Healthcare Providers. The Client is responsible for informing their licensed medical provider(s), including any provider prescribing or administering ketamine, that they are participating in coaching services with Dr. Nicole Thompson. The Client understands that this coaching relationship is separate from any medical or mental health care.  Dr. Nicole Thompson and The Pleasure Practice LLC are not responsible for coordinating, monitoring, or managing the Client's medical or psychological treatment.

5.5 Scope of Psychedelic Coaching. Psychedelic-related Coaching Services may include preparation, intention-setting, education, somatic or experiential practices, non-clinical support during an experience when expressly agreed upon, and post-experience reflection or integration. These services remain coaching and educational in nature regardless of whether they occur before, during, or after the Client's use of a psychedelic substance.

5.6 Client Responsibility and Safety. The Client agrees to provide accurate and complete information to their prescribing or treating provider and to follow all medical and safety instructions provided by that provider. The Client is responsible for promptly seeking appropriate medical or emergency care if they experience a medical or psychiatric emergency or concerning symptoms. Coaching Services are not emergency services and are not a substitute for emergency medical or mental health care.

5.7 No Modification of Medical Treatment. The Client understands that Dr. Nicole Thompson does not, through The Pleasure Practice LLC, direct the Client to begin, discontinue, increase, decrease, or otherwise modify prescription medications, psychedelic substances, or other medical treatment. Any such decisions must be made by the Client in consultation with the appropriately licensed medical provider responsible for that care.

5.8 Assumption of Risks Related to Psychedelic Treatment. The Client understands that the use of ketamine or other psychedelic substances may involve physical, psychological, emotional, and other risks. The Client acknowledges that the prescribing, administering, or otherwise authorized provider is responsible for informing the Client of the material risks, benefits, contraindications, and alternatives associated with any psychedelic treatment or substance use within that provider's scope of practice.

The Client voluntarily assumes responsibility for their decision to participate in any such separately provided treatment or psychedelic experience and for the risks inherent to that treatment or substance use. The Client understands that The Pleasure Practice LLC and Dr. Nicole Thompson are not responsible for the prescribing, administration, dosage, medical monitoring, or medical outcomes of psychedelic treatment provided by an independent provider.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1   All materials, resources, and intellectual property provided to you during the Coaching Services are for your personal use only. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of the materials without our prior written consent.

​

7. Feedback and Anonymous Testimonials

7.1 Feedback About Services. Clients may provide feedback about their experience with The Pleasure Practice LLC through graduation reviews, assessments, surveys, emails, messages, or other written communications. The Client agrees that The Pleasure Practice LLC may use excerpts from written feedback specifically concerning the Client’s experience with its services for educational, promotional, or marketing purposes, including on its website and social media, provided that the Client’s name and other personally identifying information are not disclosed.

7.2 Anonymous Attribution. Feedback used publicly may be attributed using a non-identifying description appropriate to the service received, such as “Pleasure Practice Client,” “Pleasure Liberation: Sexuality Alum,” “Pleasure Liberation: Non-Monogamy Alum,” or a similar general designation. The Pleasure Practice LLC will not publicly identify the Client by name in connection with their feedback without separate permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1 No Guarantees. The Coaching Services are provided on an “as-is” basis. We make no warranties, representations, or guarantees, express or implied, regarding specific outcomes or results.

​

8.2 Voluntary Participation and Assumption of Risk. You acknowledge that participation in coaching, somatic, relational, or experiential practices is voluntary and may involve physical or emotional discomfort. You agree to assume the risks associated with your voluntary participation in Coaching Services.

​

9. Termination

9.1 Voluntary Withdrawal. The Client may discontinue participation in Coaching Services at any time by providing notice to The Pleasure Practice LLC. Nothing in this Agreement requires the Client to attend a session, participate in an experiential practice, or continue engaging in a coaching relationship.

​

9.2 Financial Effect of Withdrawal. Withdrawal from participation or termination of the coaching relationship does not, by itself, terminate financial obligations that have already arisen under this Agreement. This includes fees for individual sessions canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice and for group programs, responsibility for the full tuition commitment and any remaining installments as described in Sections 3 and 4.

9.3 Termination by The Pleasure Practice. The Pleasure Practice LLC may terminate services or remove a participant from a group when necessary to protect participant safety, group integrity, professional boundaries, or the appropriate scope of the Coaching Services. The financial consequences of termination by The Pleasure Practice LLC are governed by the applicable provisions of this Agreement.

10. Governing Law

10.1   This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois. Any dispute arising out of or related to this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Cook County, Illinois.

​

11. Electronic Signatures

11.1 Electronic signatures, typed names, or digitally timestamped acknowledgments are considered equivalent to handwritten signatures for the purposes of this Agreement.
